FAQ

Here are answers to questions about press machining and new development proposals. Feel free to contact us if you have other questions.

We have compiled a list of frequently asked questions regarding each machining technology and solution as well as questions by customers who are considering Yoshikawa Hi-Precision Kimitsu Factory for their needs.
Please have a look at the FAQ or feel free to contact us.

What kinds of machining can you do?
We can handle all basic machining types, including precision punching, drawing, crushing(forging), and bending.
We can also combine these machining methods.
What sizes can be press-machined?
We have a track record with product sizes ranging from about 0.5 mm² to about 100 mm².
There is a limit to die sizes and the number of die processes, so please consult with us.
Can you procure materials?
We can obtain almost anything, including copper, nickel alloys, stainless steel, iron, and aluminum.
What material thicknesses are possible?
We have a track record of mass producing in thicknesses from 0.03 mm to 3.3 mm.
Besides mass production, can you handle prototyping and small lot production?
Yes. For small lots, we propose inexpensive methods, such as prototype and one-off production.
Besides press machining, what kinds of secondary machining are possible?
We can do in-house barrel processing, hydrocarbon washing, nickel-plating, and embossed tape-and-reel packaging.
Our external partners can do heat treatment, metal-plating with metals other than nickel, anodized aluminum processing, and more.
We have no drawings for a product we are developing. Can you help us?
Yes. We can assist you with examining applications and functionality, proposing product drawings, and developing the product.
What is your turnaround time for press die fabrication (sample completion)?
Turnaround time is approximately 1–2 months, depending on the shape of the product.
What production capabilities do you have?
Our company is characterized by high productivity. Our normal presses run at an SPM of 500–1,600. Our main product, lids for packages, has a production track record of 600 million units per month.
Can you do press machining with dies we provide?
In general, it’s possible, but if the die cannot be used with our press as-is, we will have to make some modifications.
Tell me more about the dimensional precision of press-machined products.
It depends on the material, plate thickness, and product shape, but in the case of precision punching, our track record of precision is ±0.007–0.010 mm.
